Vale anticipate lively clash in FA Youth Cup having drawn Sutton Coldfield Town

Following their resounding success in the first round, with a 6-1 home win over Kidderminster Harriers, the Vale Youth team are in action in the second round of the FA Youth Cup tomorrow evening.

Once again, the Vale have been drawn at home and this time they face Sutton Coldfield Town, known as The Royals, for the opportunity to progress to round three, which is the stage at which teams from the Premier League and Championship enter the draw.

Academy Head Coach Mick Ede said: “I was delighted with the performance against Kiddy.

“We fully deserved the win and the margin of victory was better than we could have expected against strong opposition.

“Now we have a great chance to go one stage further and get into the hat with the top Academy teams in the country.”

After a spate of recent injuries, the Vale are expected to be at full strength for the game which promises to be another tough test.

“This is the first time that the Royals have reached this stage of the competition, so they will be full of confidence.” added Mick.

“They have shown their capability by scoring an impressive 21 goals in the four Cup games they have played so far, so we are expecting a lively and entertaining contest.”

The game kicks off at Vale Park at 7:30pm on Tuesday 13th November and admission to the Lorne Street stand is just £3 (no concessions) pay on the gate. Come along and cheer the lads onto victory.
