The club are pleased to announce the signing of former Crewe Alexandra winger, Brendon Daniels and can also confirm that midfielder, Luke Joyce, has agreed to sign for the Vale once his current contract at Carlisle United expires.
Brendon Daniels, well known for his wizard of a left foot on free kicks, joins the Valiants on a six month contract. He became a free agent following a season at Alfreton Town, whilst Luke Joyce has agreed a two year deal with the Vale after spending three seasons at Carlisle.
Daniels, a local lad having been born in Stoke on Trent, started his career with Crewe Alexandra signing a two year professional contract. He made his first team debut coming off the bench in a 5-0 Football League Cup win over Hartlepool United in August 2012.
The winger has since gone onto play for Chester, Tamworth, Harrogate Town and AFC Flyde.
Vale's second addition today, Luke Joyce, will join the Valiants with an abundance of experience behind him. The midfielder has made 377 league appearances since making his debut for Wigan Athletic in 2006.
Loan spells with Barrow and Northwich Victoria towards the end of his spell caught the eye of Accrington Stanley and he went on to become club captain, making over 275 appearances in the midfield playmaker role.
Manager Neil Aspin is happy to have signed the pair, and says both have plenty to offer the Valiants.
"Brendon has a great delivery from wide areas and has scored a lot of goals from free kicks. He is a local lad who is desperate to prove himself at this level.
"He has to show he has the necessary requirements of hard work and dedication to win a place in the team. We are giving him a chance, it's up to Brendon to take it.
"I'm delighted we have agreed to sign Luke. He is a vastly experienced midfielder who knows the league well. He is comfortable in possession and was impressive against us for Carlisle.
"He was a regular starter in a squad with good competition for places. He also has the necessary desire to do well."
