Luke Hannant

Port Vale midfielder, Luke Hannant, is confident the Vale can do well this season after the recent signings and pre season training.

Hannant will be starting his first full season at the club having signed for the Vale back in January, and is feeling confident ahead of it.

“We’ve been working really hard in training. Obviously we went away to Dublin and that gave us a chance to find out if there are any characters in the team!

“I think we’ve gelled pretty well. Everyone is working hard in training. All the boys want to do well, we know there’s competition for places but I feel like this year with the training and pre season games we’ve had we’re looking good.”

The addition of eleven new players over the summer so far has definitely cranked up the pressure for competition in the team but the new additions have impressed Hannant.

Neil Aspin has openly admitted throughout pre season that he is experimenting with a new formation and Hannant believes the side should be able to adapt to it with the new signings.

One player Luke is looking forward to linking up much more with over the next season is Cristian Montano,  and he believes they have a “good understanding” of each other.

“I feel like me and Monty gel pretty well down that left hand side. It’s a position we’ve both played so we’re familiar with that position. We played together last season on that left hand side and we done pretty well.

“We have a good understanding of each other, we talk and get on well off the pitch so I think it’s a good combination.”
