Last week, Mick Ede and the Port Vale Youth Team were on their travels to Devon as part of a team building exercise, with help from no other than the Royal Marines.
It was a productive week for the Youth Team, who were intergrating the new first years scholars alongside the second years. It kicked off with a thorough training session, which saw Mick and Paul Ede put the players through their paces.
Following training, the guys sat down for an informative seminar which educated them on 1% gains and teamwork with a local business mentor, ending with a gym session in preparation for the game against the Royal Marines.
Prior to the match, the Youth Team were shown around the commando training centre, before kicking off in an extremely physical game against the Marines. After going a goal behind, Kyle Johnson equalised for the Vale but a late goal from the Marines saw them come away with a 2-1 win.
The boys then went onto enjoy team building exercises such as FootGolf and visisted the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Union and the watched the first team train, followed by a trip around their gym which Mick Ede described as "incredible".
