As Port travel to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, we take a look at the previous fixture earlier in the season at Vale Park.
Vale versus Forest Green Rovers turned out to be Michael Brown’s final fixture in charge of the Burslem club as Vale had earned only four points from a possible 24 in their first eight games.
The final nail in the coffin for Brown was a 1-1 draw with League Two newcomers; Forest Green Rovers, as a second half Omar Bugiel goal earned the visitors a point.
Vale took the lead in the first half as Dan Turner scored his third goal of the season, and things looked to be going to plan.
However, the Valiants failed to turn up in the second half allowing Rovers to scrape a draw.
This meant that Vale stayed rooted to the foot of the table and we’re now entering a vital period with Ned Kelly and Chris Morgan as joint interim-managers.
