Foundation

Port Vale Foundation hosted the EFL Kids Cup for under 11s yesterday morning at the sunny Dimensions Leisure centre.

The event organised by the foundation proved to be very popular, with 14 schools taking part in the 20 team tournament. Port Vale striker Anton Forrester, and defenders Charlie Walford and Kjell Knops, paid a visit to watch the teams battle it out for a chance to progress to the EFL Kids Cup regional finals.

It was St Wilfrid's who came out on top after a morning of non-stop football. They beat Milton on penalties after a goalless final, and will represent the club at the regional finals. The winner of the finals will go on to play at Wembley.

Tournament organiser and Port Vale Development Officer, Kyle Adams was over the moon with how the morning went.

"It was a fantastic tournament with the children thoroughly enjoying the games as well being able to interact with some of the players who came down to watch the matches and take part in the presentation."
