Artist

On Saturday we will be honouring local artist Sid Kirkham, who sadly passed away last weekend.

Sid was a lifelong Port Vale who was renowned for his work inspired by Stoke-on-Trent’s industrial heritage, as well as the two local football teams. He became known as the ‘Potteries Lowry’ and died at the age of 74 following a short illness.

In a tribute to Sid's work, the club will feature one of his paintings on the front over of this Saturday's programme.

Sid leaves behind wife Kendal, daughters Anna and Louise as well as his grandchildren Jacob, Alice, Gabriel, Sydney and Harriet. Family members are attending today’s game and will be sitting in the Bycars stand. On behalf of all at Port Vale FC, we offer our sincere condolences.
