Port Vale Football Club are always keen to be involved in the Football League's initiative aiming to show how clubs can provide an inclusive environment for disabled supporters.
For our home fixture against Swindon Town, we ran several activities and Leek Gateway were invited along to Vale Park. They are affiliated to national charity Mencap, an organisation who have a strong interest in providing sporting activities for its members.
Leek Gateway are also linked with Leek Town FC and some individuals play for their accessibility football team, and the main image in this article shows players and supporters on the Vale Park pitch prior to kick-off versus Swindon.
Before the match, a number of current Vale first-team players and youth prospects also visited the accessability stand. As a club, Port Vale and the Port Vale Foundation are always eager to work with disabled groups, providing tours and the use of club facilities.
The initiatives here at Port Vale link to improving the matchday experience for supporters, and they also highlight our commitment to the EFL's Code of Practice.
