Having returned to Port Vale this summer on loan from Chesterfield, Louis Dodds has expressed just how happy he is to be back at Vale Park.
The Vale number 19 has made two appearances for Aspin's side this season, coming off the bench on both occasions. Dodds reflects on Vale's season so far.
"It's chalk and cheese - on the first game we've done everything that we wanted to do - three goals, clean sheet, it was perfect.
"Then a week later we've come back down to earth with a bit of a slap to our back-sides, but hopefully we can use that in our favour and realise we dont want to feel like that again coming off the pitch.
"It's a big week for us with two games.
"You can dissect everything and go too far into watching videos etc. but if you start focusing on the negatives it can cloud your mind.
"We need to take the positives from both games and try and eradicate the negatives."
Dodds is also delighted to be back playing alongside his former team-mate and captain Tom Pope.
The forward has spoken on his friendship and professional relationship with the Vale captain, and explains just how important he is for this Port Vale side.
"We're like beauty and the beast - I think everyone knows who's who!
"I love playing with Tom, he's one of those guys you can bounce off and he gets everyone going.
"If you have those characters in your dressing room you can go far. I've been in dressing rooms where it's quite cliquey, and it can be flat - Tom gets everyone going and hopefully likewise I'll do that for him as well.
