The three day tournament was made up of a variety of different boys teams from around the globe including, Shrewsbury Town, Derby County, New York City, Bristol City, Peterborough United and a mixture of private school teams.
Our young Valiants conceded just two goals out of the game eight games and scored a brilliant sixteen goals.
Academy Coach, Matt Booth, was delighted with how the week went and felt it was huge benefit for the academy boys.
“As academy coaches, Myself and Andy had a great 3 days spent with a mixture of our u/13/14/15s academy boys in the 2004 tournament.
"Oakham International Tournament was a fantastic experience for them playing sides from all over the world, within a different environment, a competition that they were playing to win. The boys were pitted against different systems of play and tested tactically, technically, physically and mentally.
"Playing 8 games over 3 days, winning 6, drawing 1 and winning the play off final 4-3 on penalties, following a 0-0 draw. The boys were a credit to the club and their families during the tournament.
"Seeing them build a team bond and develop socially was an experience that will bode them well moving forward.”
