Players from the Vale Youth team have attended a Drivers Awareness Workshop at Vale Park this week.
Intended for 17 and 18 year olds the workshop was delivered as part of a PFA funded initiative in conjunction with Pertemps Driver Training, which is currently being rolled out to all EFL Youth teams.
The workshop focussed on areas such as seat belts, speed, mobile phones, distractions, fatigue and drink/driving and was specifically structured to promote safe and sensible driving practise.
One important aspect of the training was the use of virtual reality goggles, to show real life experiences of being involved in a road traffic accident and clearly demonstrate the importance of good driving behaviour.
Chris Taylor, Head of Education and Welfare, commented “The workshop was well received and contained lots of useful information which we hope the players will take on board to ensure that they remain safe behind the wheel at all times”.
