We are pleased to welcome Gavin Gunning to Port Vale Football Club, after the defender put pen to paper on a deal at Vale Park.
Gavin has been training with Michael Brown and the side throughout pre-season and having impressed during his time, the 26 year-old has joined the Valiants.
The defender has featured in all of the pre-season friendlies against Kidsgrove, Newcastle, Buxton and Derby.
Gunning began his career at Blackburn Rovers and rose through the ranks, whilst heading out on loan to gain experience at the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Rotherham United, Bury and Motherwell.
The former Republic of Ireland U21 international then moved on to Dundee United where he made just under 100 appearances for the Scottish side.
Gunning then made the move back to England and joined Birmingham City, but unfortunately injury struck and ruled Gavin out for the whole season.
Spells at Oldham Athletic, Dundee United and Greenock Morton followed, before joining Grimsby Town last season, where he made 14 appearances after joining in January.
Gavin will now being preparing for the first Sky Bet League Two clash of the season against Crawley Town.
