Michael Brown is hoping that his side can continue to build on their good team spirit during their squad-bonding and training sessions in Spain.
Port Vale will travel to Spain to continue their intense pre-season training ahead of the new season which is just three weeks away.
Speaking to local media after the 1-0 defeat to Derby County, the gaffer assured that his side can prepare for some tough sessions in tough environments.
“I’m hoping to build a good team spirit in Spain”, said Brown.
“When you’re with each other day in, day out, it’s a different environment. You get to learn the new players and the team.
“There will certainly be some hard training starting on Thursday morning where we will be running on the beach at 9am. I’ll be leading it, so they best get an early night!
“We will mix the training up and hopefully it will be involved with some good bonding and exercise.”
Despite the squad’s time away, Brown will still be hoping to improve the squad with some positions still needing extra depth ahead of the new season.
He said: “We need to improve still, we’re still looking as you can see but we’re got quite a bit of time to carry out with that.
“There are a few certain areas where we were light but it’s all coming together.
“It’s a new team so we will need a bit of time but it was a good run-out (against Derby) as we look forward to our next game.”
