Dan Turner Talks Pre-Season

With the Valiants now four games into their pre-season preparations, Michael Brown is continually assessing his squad as the competitive games edge ever closer.

Following the 1-0 loss at home to Derby County, Vale's players made the trip to Spain where they will carry on training in a different environment.

Striker Dan Turner, agrees that pre-season has been tough so far. However, he knows that everything will prove beneficial once the season gets under way.

He said: "It has been really tough actually. The gaffer has given us quite a bit of a workout in training and the games keep us fit. I'm feeling good.

"I'm looking forward to the few days in Spain, but I think we are going to get worked very hard out there by Browny."

Turner played the entire 90 minutes versus Derby and he pulled off a superb piece of skill during the second period to nutmeg Curtis Davies. Determined to push for a first team place, he is pleased with the game time he has had so far.

"I'm really happy at the moment, getting 90 minutes (versus Derby) was brilliant for me to get it in the tank.

"With regards to fitness, I'm feeling sharp, especially compared to last pre-season."
