We take a look at what happened when we came up against Rochdale.
Port Vale v Rochdale
At Vale Park
Tuesday 16th August 2016
League One
Attendance 3,941 including 175 visiting supporters
Vale picked up three points with a slender win over Rochdale – their second 1-0 home win in a matter of days.
The match winner came from the head of young Vale defender Nathan Smith, who rose above the Rochdale defence in the 52nd minute to meet a Sam Foley free kick.
It was a well-deserved win against a decent footballing side, and the home fans certainly showed their appreciation of the football played by their own side.
