Nicholas Kinseley has been appointed to referee Vale’s away trip to Colchester United on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League Two.
The Essex official was promoted from the National League in 2015 and he has been the man in the middle on numerous occasions in the Football League since.
This season, Kinseley has taken charge of 17 fixtures, with his last being Wycombe Wanderers versus Chesterfield in the fourth tier last weekend.
Here is a breakdown of the competitions he has refereed in so far during the 2017/18 campaign:
7 Sky Bet League Two games
6 Sky Bet League Two games
3 Checkatrade Trophy games
1 Emirates FA Cup game
In those 17 matches, he has brandished 67 yellow cards and four reds, but he is yet to take charge of a Vale game this season.
His assistants this weekend will be Paul Yates and Graham Kane, while Michael George takes up the role of Fourth Official.
