Neil Aspin hopes to make it back-to-back wins this weekend as Port Vale make the long trip to Colchester United.
After defeating Carlisle United last week, The Valiants will make yet an even further trip towards Essex to take on play-off chasing Colchester.
Speaking to the local media this week, the gaffer has said that he would love to make it two wins on the bounce. He also mentions how vital it is to get points over the busy period.
He said: “We have a difficult run of fixtures.
“We have to try and prepare for Saturday’s game. They come thick and fast over Christmas and we just have to do what we’ve been doing since I’ve been here.”
Aspin claims that the lads must dig-deep on Saturday if they are to get any type of result over a tough John McGreal side.
“They have to dig-deep,” he said.
“It’s not rocket science but the players have to make sure that they are organised, they work hard and if they do that – we will get chances to pick up points.
“We certainly need to be at our best because when we have had ‘off’ days or not played to our maximum, we don’t pick up those points.
