Miguel Santos has been on the verge of signing for Port Vale for the past month, and deadline day saw that deal finally go through.
Santos spoke exclusively to Valiant Player HD yesterday on the time he has already spent in Burslem.
Despite lengthy negotiations, Santos is adamant that he is solely focussed on his work at Vale Park:
“My mind is focused on playing in England, and for Port Vale. I want to work every day and give everything I can. Now it’s down to the boss whether I play or not.”
The month-long talks have also given time for the Portuguese-man to settle into life in England:
“I am now used to the city, my team mates and the club. I am now settled and comfortable here in England.”
Instrumental to the 6’4” ‘keepers decision to join Vale was manager Bruno Ribeiro, as the stopper reveals:
“I spoke with him a few times before I came here, and after speaking with him I was completely focused on coming here.
“He was a big factor for me coming here”, he added.
The ex-Benfica star is aware of the competition he has in Jak Alnwick and believes he can compete for the number one jersey:
“I am focused on everything, and I am not scared of anything, I respect Jak, he is a good ‘keeper but it is up to the boss as to who he picks.”
