Rigino Cicilia notched his first league goal for Port Vale and inspired a come-back against Oxford United last weekend.
Cicilia spoke exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD after the game about grabbing his first competitive goal for the club:
“It feels good, it feels very good. It’s too bad that we didn’t get the three points, but we did get one point and I scored a goal, so it’s good.”
This ends a run of 12 competitive fixtures in which Cicilia has failed to find the back of the net, however, he did not get too carried with his celebrations:
“It was a relief. I was happy about it. But we were still behind so I couldn’t celebrate too much.”
Furthermore, the striker knows what he needs to do on the pitch, with or without a strike a partner: “It’s nice to have Jerome there to support me, you can see it went well. But if he is not there I still have to do my job and work hard.”
Cicilia will be hoping that his first goal for the club will cement his name on the team-sheet for the upcoming away game at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
