Two players who have caught the eye this season is the defensive duo of Remie Streete and Nathan Smith.
The duo have been a revelation this season, with Nathan coming in for his debut this year and Remie nailing down a regular place in the starting eleven.
The two of them were pivotal to Vale having the best defensive record in the EFL at the start of the season and up the other end they have scored eight goals between them.
Experienced former Premier League defender, Ryan Taylor has been impressed with what he has seen from them so far since his arrival.
He said: “They’re a great set of lads, the two of them are great and I think they’ve got a combined average age of 20, so it’s rare you get that in this League.
“Normally the two centre halves in a side have been a round a long time, so it’s a credit to them and if they keep playing this way they’re only going to go one way.”
However, one thing the two may lack is experience playing at a higher level, something Taylor has in abundance.
The defender has said he will help them as much as possible and try and give them advice.
“I will try and help them as much a possible, but I think they’re getting to understand the game more and more as the games come think and fast.
“It’s a tough league and they’ve almost already learnt their trade and the communication the two have seems to be second to non.
“It seems to be drilled into them, one goes and one drops and the time I’ve been here I’ve been impressed with them.”
