Rob Page felt Port Vale were the better side in all areas of the pitch on Tuesday night as they beat Doncaster Rovers.
Ajay Leitch-Smith scored a brace to take his goal tally up to ten for the season at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Valiants would have also kept a clean sheet had it not been for Cedric Evina’s freak consolation straight from a cross.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD, the manager was pleased with how his side defended and attacked in unison against Darren Ferguson’s outfit.
He said: “What pleased me most is that we’ve done both sides of it really well – the not so nice side of it, knowing when to clear your lines and get us up the pitch and then at the right time we got the ball down.
“Even though at half time I did have a go a bit to say I think we can play a bit more but overall a great night.”
