Dicko ‘Over The Moon’ With Winning Goal

Club captain Carl Dickinson was ‘over the moon’ to score his first goal of the season as Port Vale beat Swindon Town last night.

The defender headed home from the second phase of a corner to seal three points for the Valiants.

At the other end he was part of a back four that put in a solid defensive performance on their way to a well-deserved clean sheet.

But after the game it was only right that we asked the skipper about his all-important winner.

“I’m over the moon,” he told Valiant PlayerHD. “I’ve wanted to get myself more goals this year.

“I think I should have scored more than I have done but I’m delighted to get the goal, delighted for it to be the winner.

“It’s another clean sheet for us, that was the main thing, we wanted three points and a clean sheet.

“We knew they were going to have a lot of the ball tonight but I thought our shape defensively was brilliant and if we were a bit more clinical we probably should have finished the game three or four-nil up.”
