Sam Kelly Previews AFC Wimbledon

Vale face their final trip on the road in 2016 this weekend, when they make the long trip to the Kingsmeadow stadium.

The Valiants will be looking to end the year on a high away from home and get back to winning ways.

The hosts are currently adjusting to life in League One very well and have had a fairy tale of a journey since 2002, climbing up the leagues.

The Dons seem to have used a very direct approach over the years to get back up the football pyramid and midfielder Sam Kelly thinks they’ll continue to play similar.

He said: “They seem very direct and I’m expecting them to still be direct and when we get there Saturday we will be trying to deal with it.

“We will certainly fancy ourselves, our away form isn’t great at the moment but it would be a good way to end the year.

“Anyone can beat anyone in this league and if we get back to back wins we will be right back up there.”

Sam has worked his way back into the side and has become a key player in midfielder for Vale.

Whether it be on the left, the right or through the middle, Sam is happy to play anywhere and help the team.

“I’m feeling confident playing out wide or in that number 10 role I’m just enjoying playing.

“In my younger years I was playing more central so I’ve always got that eye for passes.

“I can run with the ball and I can influence the game more than out wide, but I’m just enjoying playing.”
