Bruno Ribeiro Talks Cicilia and Jones

This past weekend, Vale saw their two strikers bag two of the four goals in the 4-0 win at home in the FA Cup.

Alex Jones grabbed his 10th goal of the season at Vale Park and Rigino Cicilia scored his 4th goal in the last five games at Vale Park.

Cicilia marked his start by scoring within the first 15 minutes with a great finish and got Vale going.

Manager, Bruno Ribeiro was full of praise for his number nine after the final whistle and can sense his growth in confidence.

He said: “He’s confidence is still improving and he is still learning, he works hard every day to improve.

“He is good for us and like the rest of the team he is still learning. Against Hartlepool, we started just two players over 23 years-old which is good for the future of the club.”

“It made me happy because I’m working not just for the present, but for the future of the club and in the future we will have a really strong side.”

The other striker to score, Alex Jones, is currently on loan at Vale Park until January.

Jones has been welcomed with open arms since his arrival and his goals have helped Vale this season and Ribeiro doesn’t want to lose his top scorer.

“We know it is difficult because he’s still scoring goals and he works very hard, but for me I want him to stay.

“Everyone wants him to stay, but game by game it’ll be very difficult because some clubs in the Championship will need a goal scorer, but I want him to stay here.”
