Port Vale suffered just their second defeat of the League One season at Vale Park this past weekend.
Despite having the better of possession, Vale were caught out on set-pieces and were unable to get ahead in the game.
The Valiants came from a goal down to draw level after the break, put then two goals late one saw the Cobblers come away with three points.
However, after the game, Bruno Ribeiro spoke to Valiant Player and said he was pleased with his players, but wasn’t happy with the defeat.
He said: “It’s disappointing because of the result, but the attitude of the players was fantastic but the goals conceded from free kicks are terrible.
“Northampton are strong in the air with big players, but we played well and we could have scored one or two more.
“I’m happy with players just disappointed because of the result but we keep going and keep working that’s important now.”
Despite suffering the defeat, Vale are still only five points off the top six places and are very much still in the hunt.
The game at Vale Park this past weekend was a strong display of the football Bruno wants to produce with his side and this was something he was pleased to see coming together.
He added: “When we play like that, for me I think we play well, but we need to train more.
“When we play against strong teams like this, they just play long balls and don’t play good football.
“We tried to play but they have big players and it can be difficult to score and on set pieces we need to be more aware.”
