Smith made his debut on the weekend against Bradford City and his performance earned him a spot in the Football League Paper, Team of the Day.
The defender is feeling comfortable in the starting eleven and is hoping that the clean sheets keep on coming.
He said: “It’s going to be a long journey, so we will have to recover quickly from the draw with Bradford.
“Hopefully, we can get a good result at Carlisle and we can move on through to the next round of the cup.”
