See what the assistant manager had to say ahead of this weekends clash with the Robins.
This weekend marks the second away trip of the season in League One for Vale, as they travel down South to face Swindon Town.
The last time these two sides met, it was the Valiants who took all three points, with a 1-0 win at the start of February earlier this year.
This time round, there has been all change at Vale Park and with new manager Bruno Ribeiro in charge, there is a different style of football on show.
Alongside Bruno, assistant manager, Michael Brown has been playing a key role at the club and is looking forward to a different style of test this weekend.
He said: “They’re a good footballing team, they play a different system to what we’ve been used to in the opening games, so it will be another test.
“Hopefully we can impose ourselves on the game and we can press them and know when and where to press and hopefully we can be strong and compete.”
Brown, who suffered an injury in pre-season, has been recovering in order to make his return to the first team.
Michael is into the fourth week of his recovery and is already ahead of schedule in his return to training.
He added: “I’m back with ball, back twisting, turning and running so my fitness can start building up now and it’s just a matter of ball work and seeing how strong you can be.
“It’s gone exceptionally well, in just less than four weeks, so I’ve gone really well with it so far and touch wood I can get training in the next week or so.”
