Streete: 'Hopefully I Can Kick On'

Port Vale defender Remie Streete was pleased to be back in the starting line-up against Carlisle United and is hoping to build on a strong performance.

The Valiants kept a clean sheet in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round while Uche Ikpeazu scored at the other end to seal the win.

Streete made his first start since the Capital One Cup win over Burnley last month and looked assured alongside Richard Duffy.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD after the match, the centre back said he now wants to keep his place in the starting eleven.

"That's what everyone wants, to build on good performances. If you've had a bad game you want to pick yourself up the next game," he said.

"You need a run of games and I'm glad that I was back in the team tonight, I was happy with my performance and hopefully I can kick on against Wigan."
