Page: 'It's A Good Sign To Win Like That'

Manager Rob Page insists it's a good sign that Port Vale were able to beat Carlisle United without being at their best.

Uche Ikpeazu scored the winner at Vale Park against the Cumbrians to secure a place in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Page admitted he wasn't pleased with the Valiants' first half performance but felt it picked up in the second 45 minutes.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD after the match, the 40-year-old gave his verdict on the win over Keith Curle's side.

"It wasn't the standards of the level of performance that we've given in recent weeks," he commented.

"But it's a good sign that when you're not playing at your best and you're still winning games then we'll take that."
