New Port Vale Foundation Launched

Port Vale is proud to launch its brand new Foundation.

Led by Foundation Manager, Tom Sherratt, the club will aim to deliver community projects and schemes in Burslem and at Vale Park.

Teaming up with local schools, potential sponsors and businesses, the Foundation - which is a registered charity - will target success in four key areas:

  • School Sports Participation
  • Health and Disability
  • Education
  • Social Inclusion

Chairman Norman Smurthwaite said: “I’m extremely pleased because I’m a great believer that we have a responsibility in doing what we can for people in the Burslem area.”

Manager Rob Page added: “It’s fantastic that the club now has a central hub for all of its community work.

“It’s so important for the football club, its players and staff to be a pillar for the community and everyone here is looking forward to getting involved as much as possible.”

Foundation Manager Tom Sherratt commented: “Being responsible for the development and delivery of sustainable and substantial community projects that meet the needs of the community is something we as a club are very much looking forward to.

“We want to take every opportunity to create a positive identity for the Foundation and Port Vale Football Club in the community.

“This is a brand new initiative which we feel the club and community needs.

“It’s important that clubs back local schools and soccer camps and these are massive incentives for children to come into the club and see what it’s all about.

“We’re also really keen to improve the match day experience and, as a Foundation, will aim to ensure that happens.”
