Local netball star Brogan Griffiths will be at Vale Park on Tuesday night for the club's JPT first round clash with Carlisle United.
The 21-year-old from Caverswall has been selected for England under-23s indoor netball squad and has been appointed as captain for this year's World Masters competition.
The tournament will commence at the end of September but Brogan must raise £3,000 before then in order for her to be able to travel to the host country, Australia.
She will be on the pitch at half-time of the Valiants' clash with Keith Curle's side to help raise the profile of the sport and to urge fans to donate towards her dream of competing in the elite competition.
Brogan is currently looking for any sort of sponsorship in order to help fund the trip as well one-off donations, no matter how small. In order to donate, please go to www.gofundme.com/BroEng.
"This is a fantastic opportunity which due to lack of sporting grants within this category means I have to self-fund the tour which comes at a cost of £3,000," Brogan said.
"I would be extremely grateful for any contribution which will help me fulfil my dream in leading the squad out in Australia."
Indoor netball is a slight variation of the original version of the sport and is played at a faster pace on a pitch enclosed in netting.
Brogan, who graduated from Staffordshire University earlier this year, has been playing it since she was around seven-years-old and was part of the country's under-21 team that competed in the 2014 World Championships.
