Darren Deadman will take charge of Port Vale’s clash with Colchester United this week.
The Valiants make the long trip to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday evening, kick-off 7.45pm, for Sky Bet League One action.
Mr Deadman has officiated nine games so far this season, brandishing 25 yellow cards and one red.
The last time he refereed a game involving Vale was during the 2013/14 campaign at Gillingham, where the Valiants went down 3-2.
Dave Bushell and Ashvin Degnarain will be the assistant referees while Darren Cann will be the fourth official.
