A short remembrance service will be held in the lead-up to kick-off at today’s game.
Port Vale take on Maidenhead United in the FA Cup first round this afternoon at Vale Park, kick-off 3pm.
The two club captains will lay wreaths on the pitch and they will be accompanied by three retired veterans, William Clarke and Tony Massey from the Royal Artillery and John Morris of the Royal Engineers.
The Last Post will be sounded before minute’s silence is observed and the Words of Remembrance will be read aloud by Reverend Ashley Cooper.
