Port Vale’s October half term soccer schools were a major success with around 80 children participating across the two days.
Run by the club’s new Foundation Trust, the sessions, which took place at Dimensions Leisure Centre, focused on the basics of football; passing, dribbling, shooting, attacking and defending.
First team stars Uche Ikpeazu and captain Carl Dickinson took time to pay the children a visit and even helped to deliver a number of the drills before handing out awards.
The club has been inundated with positive comments from parents regarding the quality of coaching and facilities. Below are just a few of those reviews.
“Would just like to say thank you to you and all the coaches for the last two days ………… has really enjoyed every minute of it and is now thoroughly tired out (doesn't happen often!). You all worked really hard to make the time fun for everyone. Many thanks”
“Just like to say a big thanks you to you and your team for the last 2 days. ………… has absolutely loved the experience, you all do a cracking job.”
“My boys have not stopped talking about today and the vale players being there to hand the awards out. You have made their day. Thanks again they had a fab time.”
Tom Sherratt, the club’s Foundation Trust Manager, said: “We had a fantastic couple of days running the October half term soccer schools.
“As one of our very first initiatives, it was a massive success and to have first team players come along as play a part was brilliant.
“We were very encouraged by the numbers we had and we’re now looking forward to putting more of these on in the future.”
