Since then Rob Page has added forward Ajay Leitch-Smith to his squad on a one-year deal and the 25-year-old could be in line to start this evening.
Talking about the potential of making his home debut, he told Valiant PlayerHD: “I’m buzzing to be fair. It will be good to get the home crowd in and hopefully get a win and onto the next.”
Fellow new additions Sam Foley, Sam Kelly, Uche Ikpeazu, Ben Purkiss and Anthony Grant could also make their bow at Vale Park in club colours.
Notts County, meanwhile, have also made a perfect start to their pre-season campaign, beating Arnold Town, Rolls Royce Leisure, Carlton Town and Alfreton Town respectively.
Manager Ricardo Moniz was appointed just prior to the end of last season but couldn’t save the club from relegation to League Two.
So far this summer the Meadow Lane outfit have added Jon Stead, Mawouna Amevor, Julian Jenner, Scott Loach and Stanley Aborah to their ranks.
It was also confirmed in May that former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll will remain at the club following a stellar debut season.
