Forward Sustained Injury During Loss To Crewe
Port Vale can confirm that forward Louis Dodds has sustained a fractured toe.
The 28-year-old picked up the injury during the Valiants’ loss to local rivals Crewe Alexandra at Vale Park on Saturday.
An X-ray earlier this week revealed the break but it is not yet clear how long Dodds will be out of action.
The former Leicester City trainee has started in each of Vale’s last seven fixtures, scoring once, and Page says he is disappointed to lose the versatile playmaker.
“It’s disappointing news because Louis has been playing very well recently,” the Valiants boss commented.
“We’ve been pleased with his form over the last couple of months but we are sure he will come back even stronger.
“In the meantime, we have a number of players champing at the bit to get into the starting line-up so we certainly won’t be short of options.”
