Sky Bet League One Round Up

Port Vale and Scunthorpe United shared the spoils at Vale Park on Saturday. Here we take a look at how the other games in Sky Bet League One panned out.

Heavy rainfall almost stopped the Valiants game against Mark Robins’ side going ahead but luckily it wasn’t bad enough to halt play.

That’s more than could be said for three other games in League One as Bradford versus Southend, Fleetwood versus Walsall and Oldham versus Millwall were all postponed.

Burton Albion ensured they remained top of the table with a thumping 3-0 win away at fellow high-fliers Gillingham.

Former Vale skipper Doug Loft was sent off in the first half before Damien McCrory scored the opener and two late goals from Lucas Akins and Anthony O’Connor sealed the points.

Crewe Alexandra were denied three vital points in dramatic fashion at Keepmoat Stadium as three stoppage time goals decided the fate of their contest with Doncaster Rovers.

The sides were level at 1-1 after 90 minutes but Callum Saunders gave the Alex the lead before Cameron Stewart and Andy Williams scored in quick succession to earn the hosts a 3-2 win.

Blackpool carved out a rare away victory as they beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 at the DW Stadium.

Tom Aldred’s first half header was all that was needed to come away from their Lancashire rivals with maximum points.

Elsewhere, Bury beat Chesterfield 1-0 at Gigg Lane, Barnsley won 3-2 at Colchester, Peterborough and Shrewsbury played out a 1-1 draw and Swindon won against Rochdale at the County Ground.
