Port Vale boss Rob Page said his side has played worse than they did against Coventry City and won but insists all focus must now switch to Bury.
The Valiants were beaten 1-0 by Tony Mowbray’s Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena as James Maddison scored the decisive goal in the second half.
Monday sees David Flitcroft’s Shakers make the trip to Vale Park in what will be the third fixture of the festive period.
Speaking following the loss, Page expressed his disappointment at the defeat but said all his efforts will go into putting it right tomorrow.
“We’ve played worse than today and won games,” the manager told Valiant PlayerHD.
“That’s all we can focus on, being consistent in our levels of performance and the results will look after themselves.
“Today we haven’t got it and we can’t grumble, we move onto Monday, we make sure we’re consistent with our performance and we’ll go again.”
