The club has this week launched a campaign urging Vale fans to go to the game wearing white to help create an inspiring atmosphere for the players.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD in the lead-up to the opening day fixture, Page emphasised how important the fans’ support could be.
“I think I’ve mentioned in the past that the Coventry City game at the Ricoh Arena was tremendous from our fans,” he said.
“Even Chesterfield away, on the back of a three-nil defeat and the fans that day were superb so we know the away support in particular at those times was tremendous.
“With what the club has done with the ‘White Wall’ and the noise I think will definitely give the boys a lift and play a part in our performance on Saturday.”
