Page Pleased With Strength-In-Depth After Pre-Season

Port Vale manager Rob Page is happy with the strength-in-depth of his squad after testing his players throughout pre-season.

The Valiants rounded off their schedule of friendlies with a win over Altrincham on Saturday as Uche Ikpeazu and Colin Daniel bagged the decisive goals.

Over the course of the summer the club has added seven new players and, having had the chance to see all of them in action, Page says he is pleased with what he has to work with.

Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD after the clash with Alty, the Vale boss discussed how he feels pre-season has gone as a whole.

"It's been a great pre-season for the boys," he said. "We've picked up a couple of injuries which we could have done without.

"But I think by the additions we've brought into the squad this season I think we've seen now that there's strength-in-depth throughout the whole squad in all positions.

"Unfortunate as it is that we lose the other two, we've got people that are capable of stepping into their positions."
