Referee Trevor Kettle will take charge of Port Vale’s Capital One Cup first round tie with Burnley on Tuesday evening.
The Valiants welcome Sean Dyche’s outfit to Vale Park as the knockout tournament gets underway.
Kettle took charge of 22 games in total last season, including two matches involving Rob Page’s side.
Vale beat Colchester United 2-1 away from home in November and drew at Scunthorpe United in April with the Rutland-born referee in charge.
He will be assisted at Vale Park by Darren Straub and Michael Denton with Kevin Morris acting as the fourth official.
