Alnwick: ‘Remie Didn’t Need To Do Any Convincing’

Goalkeeper Jak Alnwick says he didn’t need any convincing to agree to join the club, not even from fellow former Magpie Remie Streete.

Having come through the ranks at Newcastle United, Alnwick is good friends with summer signing Streete and says the defender had nothing but positive feedback about Port Vale.

But, speaking exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD this afternoon, the shot-stopper insisted he was well aware of the stature and size of the club before he conversed with his teammate.

“It’s always nice, there’s a great set of lads here anyway so I don’t think it would have made a difference but it’s nice knowing someone,” he said.

“Obviously I know a couple of lads through different things but it’s good having a mate at the club so I phoned him before I came down and it was perfect for me really.”

He added: “Since minute one, even when he [Remie] came on loan, he always had good things to say about the club.

“I mean I didn’t need any convincing to come here, I know it’s a great club myself so I’m delighted to be here.”
