Stephane Zubar Disappointed At Debut Defeat At Preston

Defender Makes First Vale Appearance

Port Vale defender Stephane Zubar was disappointed to be on the wrong end of a 3-2 score-line on his debut for the club - against Preston North End in the JPT.

The 27-year-old, currently on loan from Championship side Bournemouth, started at Deepdale, marking his first appearance since moving to the Valiants.

A Tom Pope double was not enough for Rob Page’s side to advance in the cup competition as Chris Humphrey, Joe Garner and Paul Gallagher all netted for the Lilywhites.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player following the game, Zubar discussed how it felt to wear a Vale shirt for the first time and his disappointment at the final result against Preston.

“We are really disappointed. I think the boys have done really well,” he said.

“I think the second goal killed us because before that I thought we had chances to win tonight but I think we are not far so we have got to focus on the next game on Saturday against Yeovil.”
