Rob Page’s Focus Fully On Colchester United

Vale Boss Ready For U's Clash

Rob Page has not basked in his appointment as Port Vale manager for very long, claiming concentration is fully on his side’s visit to Colchester United this weekend.

The 40-year-old was officially announced as Valiants boss on Wednesday afternoon after around a month in caretaker charge of the club’s first team.

During that time the Welshman won admirers with the brand of football he implemented at Vale Park.

Speaking to Valiant Player, Page thanked the club’s fans for their support over the last few weeks as well as Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite for the opportunity he has been given, but insisted attention is now solely on Saturday’s game in Essex.

“The announcement has been made, let’s forget about it and get on with focusing on a tough game against Colchester,” he said.

“I think they’ve won their last two home games 2-1, they’ve drawn both their away games so they’ve made changes since the new manager has gone in and we’re going to have to be at our very best to get anything out of the game.”
