Remie Streete Hopes To Keep Shirt For Colchester United Clash

On Loan Defender Wants To Start At U's

Newcastle United loanee Remie Streete is determined to win a place in Port Vale’s starting line-up for this weekend’s trip to Colchester United.

The 19-year-old came on as a half-time substitute during the Valiants’ 3-0 win over Leyton Orient on Saturday and impressed with an assured performance.

It was the young defender’s first appearance in professional football following his loan move from Premier League side Newcastle to Vale earlier this month.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, Streete said he now wants to keep hold of the shirt for the fixture at Weston Homes Community Stadium.

He said: “The manager’s had a word with me and he has said to a lot of players who have been on the fringes over the last couple of weeks that you have got to be ready when your chance comes.

“Then once you’re in take your chance well and the shirt is yours to hold onto, so it’s down to me to keep myself in the team and I will do my best to do that.”
