Vale Striker Frustrated At Draw
Port Vale striker Ben Williamson was disappointed not to come away with three points against Scunthorpe United but was pleased to get his name back on the score-sheet.
The 25-year-old netted after seven minutes to cancel out Neal Bishop’s early opener.
The Valiants took the lead with just twenty minutes to go through Chris Birchall but a late goal from Iron striker Lyle Taylor meant Vale had to settle for a point.
Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player following the game against Scunthorpe, Williamson says he was disappointed not to win.
“We’re very disappointed with the result in the end, going 2-1 up and them going down to ten men,” he commented.
“We see that as dropping two points really, but we got the point in the end and we didn’t lose so on to the next one.”
