Former Manchester City Striker Signs For Valiants
Port Vale can confirm the signing of former Manchester City striker Alex Nimely.
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Vale Park until the end of the current season.
He has been training with Rob Page’s side over the last few days following his release by Premier League champions City during the summer.
Nimely, a former England youth international, was originally born in Liberia and started his professional career with Coton de Garoua before transferring to the Etihad Stadium in 2008.
The forward has also previously played in the Football League for Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Crystal Palace.
Speaking of the acquisition of Nimely, Vale boss Rob Page said: “He has got the pedigree behind him again, he was at Manchester City as a youngster.
“I spoke to a good friend of mine who says he has quality and we know he is going to bring that quality into the squad so it’s pleasing to get his signature.
“We need to get him fit, he knows that himself, but I think once we do get him fit we’ll have a player on our hands.”
