Dicko wants nothing less than three points on Saturday against Peterborough

Defender wants to finish the season on a high

Defender Carl Dickinson says he would love to remain with the club should he be offered a new contract by Micky Adams.

He arrived at vale park last summer not too sure how the fans would take to him after previously being with Vale’s bitter rivals down the road at the Birtannia Stadium but says he appreciates the support he has received from the

He said “I am just someone that tries and gives my best in every game. I have never professed to be the greatest footballer in the world or anything like that.

“But from what I have experienced here, the fans around this region appreciate hard work and honesty and that is all I can do.

“I just want to keep doing my best no matter who I play for. I give my best in every game and hopefully I can keep doing that.”

The supporters don’t need reminding that Dickinson will be giving his all for the shirt against Peterborough this weekend.

He and his team mates will not go into the game thinking about the summer break, they want to finish off the season in style and will be looking for another three points.

Dickinson says: “We don’t want to finish the season just turning up. Peterborough might rest a few as they get ready for the play-offs, we don’t know.

“Whoever they put out we need to go and try and get three points because we want to finish as high as we can.

“We want to win. There’s no point just turning up and pottering around or you are not doing any justice to yourself or the fans, who pay a lot of money to travel a fair way to watch you.”
