Vale in the Community working in partnership with Show Racism the Red Card
Children in Key Stage 2 from Moorpark Junior School are participating in a Show Racism the Red Card event at Vale Park on Monday 10th March, community trust staff will be supporting the event throughout the afternoon.
During the afternoon there will be educational workshops, a film screening and Q&A session with Vale first team players Gavin Tomlin, Joe Davis and Richard Duffy.
These educational events can have a very positive impact on how young people view the issue of Racism. An external valuation of the work found that “Arguably the most significant impact of the events on young people is the sense of empowerment that they awaken” And “By fuelling young people’s passion to speak out against racism, Show Racism the Red Card may be breaking the transmission of inter-generational racism.”
This is one of a series of events that the Port Vale FC Community Trust will be organising on behalf of parent company Port Vale Football Club over the coming months so watch this space.
