As part of Vale in the Community, this morning (25th June) Vale Park hosted a celebration mass for the Newman Catholic Collegiate, which is a multi-academy company of schools in the local area, to commemorate the schools first year in existence.
In the region of 2,000 staff and children from all 9 schools in the multi-academy, came to Vale to celebrate this momentous occasion. To help celebrate the event, Bishop McGough, as well as Father Peter Weatherby and Father Julian Green were in attendance.
On the event Principal of St. Margaret Ward Catholic Academy, Mr. Smith, said
“It’s a massive event for us and we’re glad the sun’s shining.”
The Collegiate is made up of 8 primary schools, which are all partner schools to St Margaret Ward, these are:

•Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy (formerly English Martyrs’), Biddulph
•St Mary’s Catholic Academy, Norton
•St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy, Tunstall
•St George & St Martin Cathloic Academy, Birches Head
•St Joseph’s Catholic Academy, Goldenhill
• Our Lady & St Benedict Catholic Academy, Abbey Hulton
• St Peter’s Catholic Academy, Cobridge
